He is married to Erin Nealy Cox, the head of the digital forensic firm Stroz Freidberg's Dallas office, and is the father of two daughters. Mr. Cox received a B.A. magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University and his J.D. with honors from the University of Virginia School of Law.
