Minor children may face a variety of criminal charges today, including DUI/DWI, Minor in Consumption, drug offenses, assault, and property damage. This is a stressful event for children and their parents. Effective legal representation can ensure that your child’s legal rights are protected and that steps are taken to assist the child as necessary. Additionally, the manner in which the charges are handled may have implications for the child as an adult.

The laws relating to criminal offenses for a minor vary in significant ways from the law relating to offenses by adults. Our firm has the expertise and experience to effectively represent minors who are accused of criminal offenses. Jackie Dodd prosecuted cases against children on behalf of the State of Texas in the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office for 6 years, and began defending children against such offenses in 2007.

The juvenile justice system specifically addresses these criminal charges for children aged 10 – 16, and has jurisdiction over the child through the age of 18.
